Cashiers, North Carolina Color

Wild mountain laurels and azaleas are beginning to pop up everywhere, and the hybrid dogwoods and rhododendron are punctuating the Cashiers, North Carolina Plateau landscape. Lake Glenville, the highest elevation lake east of the Mississippi, exhibits Walnut and Hickory trees that look like lace has been draped on them as the blossoms prepare for an abundance of nuts in the fall. Even the vegetable gardens on Big Ridge Road in Glenville have pinpoints of green, yellow and red as peppers, tomatoes, and squash birth into being. The North Carolina crossroads of highways 64 and 107 are picturesque with bursting color and the many golf course greens of Mountaintop, Sapphire Valley, Wade Hampton and so many other country clubs are sprouting new shoots, ready for a season of golfers to enjoy. What a time to sit on the deck at the Fairway Forest Condominiums! Sapphire Valley’s famous Fairfield Lake reflects and doubles the rock faces and sky, contrasting beautifully. The “Land of Waterfalls”, as the Cherokees call these highland of Cashiers, Glenville, and Sapphire North Carolina, couldn’t be more lovely.
