Betsy Paul
Betsy Paul, owner and Broker in charge of Betsy Paul Properties, Inc., was originally from Wilmington, Delaware. Betsy graduated from Connecticut College with a BA in Studio Art. She also earned a teaching certificate from Smith College and was recruited to teach English in Japan, at Nagoya International College.
Back in the states, Betsy sold advertising for WLOQ, a jazz radio station in Winter Park, FLorida. Clients included Walt Disney World and Lexus, as well as many other upscale businesses. Winter Park is where she met her husband Peter Paul, a real estate attorney in Cashiers. Peter’s family has spent summers at their High Hampton home since the early sixties. Betsy arrived in Cashiers January 9, 1990 on a very cold day and wondered why she was here!
Betsy combines her artistic background and advertising experience to develop an effective marketing campaign. Each real estate listing receives extensive advertising in the Crossroads Chronicle, two real estate magazines, virtual tours and color flyers. Open houses are held weekly throughout the season. Betsy’s formula for success combines 55+ years of full-time real estate experience in the Cashiers/Glenville/Sapphiere Valley market. She is proud of her relationships and has many clients she has worked with on multiple real estate transactions.
Michael Cox
Michael was born in Japan and has lived in Cashiers, North Carolina for most of his life, when he was not living in Detroit, Washington, DC, or Glasgow, Scotland.
Having Cashiers, as not only his home, but hometown, gives Michael a deep-seated love and knowledge of the area As the son of Betsy Paul, Michael grew up in Cashiers’ real estate offices. As such, his knowledge of the real estate market is native and beyond his years. This coupled with his genuine care makes him a boon to his clients.
Michael is currently severing as a Director of the Highlands Cashiers Board of Realtors, and as a Member of the Cashiers Planning Council.
Prior to becoming a broker associate with Betsy Paul Properties (BPP), Michael worked as a real estate agent in Richmond, Virginia, so he brings the up-to-date methods and hard work of a full-time metropolitan agent to his trade.
Now, as scion of Betsy Paul Properties, Michael works to help his clients both to buy and sell real estate in Cashiers, NC and the surrounding areas of Lake Glenville, Sapphire Valley, Highlands, and Cullowhee Michael specializes in unique mountain acreage and classic mountain vacation homes.
Jeff Kahn
Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Jeff Kahn resided in Lakeland, Florida after college at the University of Texas and University of Wisconsin.
He loves fishing and hiking, and being a “family man” with his wife and two children. He co-managed a national chain jewelry store before owning his own jewelry store with his wife Ellen, from Macon, Georgia, for 33 years. Jeff is an expert at connecting peple with what makes their dreams come true. As with the perfect wedding rings, he strives to engage the year-round or vacation home to the desires and hopes of those connecting to the Cashiers/Sapphire/Glenville area.
After decades of vacation rental experiences in the various surounding areas, he built several homes here, learning the unique qualities to this mountain terrain, and its governing bodies. Matching needs with the local communities, in-town Cashiers, Sapphire, and Glenvile, his client relationships become friends, because he gives every effort to satisfy.
Encouraging others with friendliness through his various experiences, he strives to make other’s real estate experiences positive.
